Title: "Prairie Magic"
For years I’ve driven the long, predominantly flat terrain to visit my family in Nebraska. After 40 years, the trip has gotten to be extraordinarily dull, as you might expect. Still, I’ll come across a scene which begs for capture. This one, which reflects the wide openness of the Great Plains, is one of those. I had to remove power lines from this image prior to working with it, but the result is pretty cool, I think.
It’s all about the effect.
To me, the plains can be a place of magic - when you slow down to look. I’ve been by this tree a hundred times over the years, but when I saw it this way, stripped of leaves it struck me that this could be a good composition.
So it is.
