This robin decided to pay a visit recently while I was out waiting for Hummingbirds to come along. I hadn't considered doing an image with one, but I figured I did one with a Magpie, and I like Robins better than Magpies so actually in a way, I felt it was my obligation. I'm glad I did - the resulting image turned out much stronger than I thought it would going in. After removing a couple of distracting limbs, I created a bluish background for the piece since a Robin's eggs are a beautiful pale blue color.
Then came the rest - I left foliage to give the image a sense of location and added the textures for to give it a bit of symbolism. For me it symbolizes outside influences having effects on nature. Or you could just look at it and say "cool" or "yuck".
